  1. How do I apply for this fellowship? You can no longer submit your application for this first cohort because applications closed on March 31, 2023.

  2. How long does the fellowship last? The fellowship begins in September 2023 and will end August 31, 2025. This position is full-time, based in New York City.

  3. Is this in person or a remote position? This is a hybrid position that will have recurrent in-person meetings.

  4. What’s the goal of this fellowship program? We believe that when you invest in someone’s leadership, particularly early on in their career, they tend to stay working in the service of the public good for the duration of their careers. We are looking to invest in people early/mid-career that are dedicating themselves to social justice work, with a democracy lens, with the aim to help incubate a network of leaders in the social justice space.

  5. What is the compensation? The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 with a full benefits package.

  6. Is the start date flexible? No, all fellows will being as a cohort in September 2023.

  7. Will travel be required? Travel throughout the five boroughs will be required. Travel outside of New York City will be offered as opportunities arise.

  8. Who are the host organizations? The host organizations are Riders Alliance (grassroots track), Center for Popular Democracy (policy/ advocacy track), and New American Leaders  (electoral track).
